What Are The Classifications Of Axial Piston Pumps

According to the different inclined elements, there are two types of axial piston pumps: swash plate type and inclined shaft type.

The swash plate type is that the swash plate has an inclination angle relative to the rotating cylinder body, which causes the plunger to reciprocate in the pump cylinder. The axis of the drive shaft and the axis of the cylinder block are consistent. This structure is simpler and the speed is higher, but the working conditions are demanding, and the contact between the plunger end and the swash plate is often a weak link. The axis of the swash plate of the inclined axis is consistent with the axis of the transmission shaft. It is due to the reciprocating motion of the plunger cylinder body due to the inclination of the plunger cylinder at an angle relative to the transmission shaft. The flow adjustment relies on the angle of the swinging plunger cylinder to achieve, so it is also called the swing cylinder type. Compared with the swash plate type, it works reliably and has a large flow rate, but the structure is complex.

Axial piston pumps are generally used in the hydraulic transmission systems of machine tools, metallurgy, forging, mining and hoisting machinery, and are especially widely used in high-power hydraulic transmission systems. In order to improve efficiency, gear pumps or sliding vane pumps are also commonly used as auxiliary oil pumps in applications to feed oil, compensate for leakage and maintain a certain pressure in the oil circuit.
